What the Invicta Pro Diver Actually Is

The Invicta Pro Diver series follows the classic tool-diver design language established in the mid-20th century — a unidirectional bezel, broad case proportions, a legible dial layout and a date magnifier. It's a design vocabulary shared across many dive watches, and Invicta has built the Pro Diver line around it since the 1990s.

Functionally, most automatic Pro Diver models use the Seiko NH35 automatic movement — a well-respected Japanese caliber that Seiko supplies to other brands (it is the unbranded version of Seiko's own 4R35). The NH35 offers hand-winding capability, hacking, a date display and approximately 41 hours of power reserve. It's a reliable, serviceable, globally supported movement.

The NH35 Movement — The Constant Across the Lineup

Most Invicta Pro Diver automatic models share the Seiko NH35 caliber. Key specifications:

Key Variants and What Separates Them

8926OB — The Classic

The 8926OB is the most recognized Pro Diver model — the watch most people picture. Features a coin-edge unidirectional bezel, bold classic-diver proportions, and comes in green, black and blue dial variations. The coin-edge bezel is one of Invicta's signature design touches — a distinctive texture that gives it a look of its own. Case size: approximately 40mm.

8926 (Silver) — The Classic Alternative

The 8926 (without OB suffix) offers a more traditional stainless steel aesthetic with a domed mineral crystal and anti-reflective coating. It features the same NH35 movement and 200m water resistance with slightly different finishing choices on the case and dial.

29178 — Sport with Deployant Clasp

This variant adds a deployant clasp — a fold-over clasp mechanism rather than the standard butterfly clasp — which many wearers find more secure and comfortable for active use. The same NH35 movement, same 200m rating, with the practical upgrade of a deployant bracelet closure.

35726 — The Bold 47mm Statement

The 35726 is significantly larger than the other Pro Diver variants at 47mm — a statement-sized watch in gold-tone that reads emphatically bold. It suits larger wrists and those who want a visually commanding timepiece. The same NH35 movement and 200m rating in a dramatically larger, gold-tone package.

Water Resistance — All at 200m

All automatic Pro Diver models carry 200m water resistance, achieved through screw-down crowns. For the 200m rating to be active, the crown must be fully screwed down. This makes the Pro Diver a genuinely capable dive watch at a price that makes it accessible as an everyday sport watch with full water resistance confidence.
